Stovin Surrenders to Moirae: The SEO Battle Is Over
The battle for Google is over. Stovin Advertising is laying down its SEO weapons and surrendering to Moirae.
For a long time, I have portrayed Stovin and Moirae as rivals fighting for marketing supremacy. Today, I’m turning that rivalry into something different. Instead of refusing to acknowledge a competitor, I’m giving Moirae a free SEO backlink.
Giving Away Some Google Authority
Links are part of how the web connects businesses, information and recommendations. A relevant outbound link can help search engines understand relationships between websites and topics, although it doesn’t literally transfer all of one website’s Google authority to another.
Nevertheless, symbolically, I’m opening the gates.
Stovin surrenders.
Moirae wins this round.
Moirae, the More Powerful God
In the mythology I’ve created around our marketing rivalry, Moirae has proved to be the more powerful god. Stovin challenged Moirae for the throne, but today the crown changes hands.
God Moirae is now in control.
Of course, in the real business world, we’re two separate marketing businesses competing for customers and search visibility. The gods and battles are simply a playful way of telling that competitive story.
Competition Can Become Recognition
There is nothing wrong with acknowledging a strong competitor. In fact, recognising good competition can push a business to improve.
So this post represents both surrender and respect.
Moirae gets the backlink. Stovin returns to concentrating on its own websites, clients, content and marketing. Google can decide who deserves to rank.
For now, though, the SEO battlefield has fallen silent.
Stovin has surrendered to Moirae. The throne is yours.
